Efforts to recover the freighter Verity, which sank in the German Bight region of the North Sea in 2023 after a collision, were delayed on Tuesday. Chains had been attached to the railing of a vessel at the site of the accident to pull the front part of the ship from the seabed, but the railing broke off and the chains fell back into the water, said co-leader of the recovery operation Marc Antony Rooijakkers.
