The United States has begun airdropping humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, news outlets CNN and NBC reported on Saturday, citing government sources. According to the reports, three US military transport planes had dropped a total of 66 parcels containing tens of thousands of meals in the coastal enclave that is under attack from Israel. On Friday, US President Joe Biden announced plans to drop humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip from the air to deliver badly needed food and supplies to the civilian population, saying the current level of aid was nowhere near enough.
