In early April of this year, Xiaomi joined the trend of open-design TWS headphones. The brand is now launching the audio device on the global market. Xiaomi confirmed this on its official X handle. The new product is called Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo. The device will compete in the market with devices such as Huawei FreeClip, Bose Ultra Open, and others.

Xiaomi has not disclosed the exact date of the OpenWear Stereo launch on the global market. It will be available in white and black colors. Meanwhile, the company’s CEO Lei Jun said that the company is very excited to bring its first open-ear audio product to international markets.

Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo is expected to be the same as its Chinese counterpart. The upcoming novelty has an ergonomic design similar to an ear hook, the curved part of which fits comfortably to the ear and does not block the ear canal. The flexible nickel-titanium alloy wire can be bent and adjusted. The headphones are certified to the IP54 dust and water protection standard.

Xiaomi Open Headphones (as they are called in China) have a real-time ambient sound perception feature that allows you to stay aware of your surroundings. The headphones are equipped with special 17 x 12 mm drivers and DLC diaphragms. They also support the LHDC codec and Hi-Res audio. Because Xiaomi Open Headphones have an open design, they are equipped with an independent leakage protection system to keep sound from leaking out of the device. The 10mm leakage-proof sound unit improves privacy, especially during calls.

The Xiaomi Open Headphones also feature a dual microphone array and beamforming algorithm that eliminates ambient noise to ensure clear call quality. The TWS headphones are capable of connecting to two devices simultaneously and provide 7.5 hours of playback time on a single charge, which increases to 38.5 hours with a case.
