The formation of a new, moderate left-wing government in Spain’s contested region of Catalonia is a great deal closer, around two and a half months after early parliamentary elections were held there. The base of the left-wing separatist Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC) approved a coalition agreement with the Socialists of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Friday.
