Top favourite Joris Daudet delighted a home crowd as he led a BMX racing podium sweep for France in the men’s event at the Paris Games on Friday. Daudet emerged victorious in 31.422 seconds, defeating team-mates Sylvain André and Romain Mahieu respectively. This was the first Olympic medal for four-time and current BMX world champion Daudet. Briton Kye Whyte had a heavy crash in the semi-finals and was taken away on a stretcher but team officials said later he suffered no serious injuries.
