Xiaomi has most likely completed the release of its main smartphones for this year. So now we can expect the company to focus on its next-generation tablet. Namely, on the Xiaomi Pad 7 series.
The lineup is expected to include two models, the Pad 7 and the Pad 7 Pro, which we have shared leaks about on multiple occasions. Now a new leak from Smart Pikachu has revealed the estimated launch dates for these tablets.
According to the leak, Xiaomi will launch the Pad 7 series in the third quarter of this year. This is a significant delay compared to the launch dates of its predecessors, the Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro, which debuted last April.
However, the insider also suggests that the tablets will be suitable for “automotive use” on the principle of Plug and Play. This would be expected from Xiaomi, which is now also an electric car manufacturer. Ensuring compatibility in the ecosystem of its products is what the company wants in the first place.
Specifications of the Xiaomi Pad 7 series
Although details about the Pad 7 series are still scarce, Digital Chat Station has revealed some key specifications of the Pad 7 Pro.
It is expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a 12.45-inch display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a high aspect ratio of 16:10, and a 10,000 mAh battery will be responsible for powering it. The Pad 7 Pro’s 3C certification also revealed support for 120W fast charging.
The tablet is also reported to have a dual 50-megapixel camera on the back and four speakers for sound reproduction.
In contrast, we know very little about the vanilla Pad 7, except for a leak that suggests it may be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
