Singers, a poet and campaigners from across two counties are set to hold an event to let refugees know they are welcome in town. Campaigners will be gathering in Newark Market Place on Saturday, March 9, around a market stall proclaiming ‘Newark Welcomes Refugees’. Organised by the Nottingham and Lincoln Stand Up To Racism groups with help from Care4Calais, Nottingham and Notts Refugee Forum and Refugee Roots, the event will run from 10am to 1pm.
