Officials from the transport ministry began an inspection at the headquarters of Toyota Motor Corp. on Tuesday after the automaker admitted to improperly obtaining vehicle quality certifications for seven car models, including three that are still in production. Government inspectors will interrogate relevant Toyota officials and examine documents over the safety tests, which were carried out in ways not specified by the government, as part of their scrutiny of the office in Toyota, Aichi Prefecture.
