Newcastle United have been looking for Dan Ashworth’s replacement for more than six months, but they have finally found the man to be their new sporting director. Ashworth was placed on gardening leave by Newcastle in February as he confirmed he wanted to join Manchester United. After months of talks, Man United and Newcastle came to agreement on Ashworth last week as he began work on July 1st at Old Trafford and now just days later his replacement at St James’ Park has been confirmed.
