The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a shooting from Saturday morning that left a 22-year-old dead, officials said Sunday. Jaheem Futrell of Newark was found by Newark police officers at approximately 10:47 a.m. Saturday on the 300 block of South 8th Street suffering from a gunshot wound, the office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene a half-hour later. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are asking for the public’s help with identifying any suspects.
