An SUV rear-ended an unoccupied State Police parked in the left lane of Interstate 280 on Saturday night following an earlier crash, authorities said. The State Police vehicle then hit a second police vehicle near Exit 12 in East Orange at 9:55 p.m. Saturday, according to State Police. Both State Police vehicles had their emergency light on and were parked behind the initial crash. The driver and passengers in the SUV were hospitalized with moderate injuries.
