Four fire crews were called to a blaze in a flat this afternoon. The call to the property in Cuxton Road, Strood, came in at 4.20pm. Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames with hose reel jets and then used a high-pressured ventilation fan to clear the property of smoke. Three people were treated by SECamb medics at the scene for smoke inhalation. It is believed the fire started in a tumble dryer. Firefighters were able to leave the scene at 5.40pm.
