Councillors are to debate plans to create a vertical garden and retractable rooftop canopy at the Varsity Hotel and Spa in Cambridge. It is proposed to install the all-weather, retractable, living-meadow roof canopy over the rooftop which the applicant says will introduce year round greenery and “provide a haven for pollinators, insects, birds and butterflies”.
