Newbury’s Luke Humphries beat teenager Luke Littler 7-4 in a sensational final at London’s Alexandra Palace to win his first PDC World Championship title tonight (Wednesday). Humphries, 28, who became world number one on Tuesday, won five consecutive sets to claim victory against the 16-year-old in a high tension finale which had the crowd on their feet and the nation’s darts lovers glued to their TVs, scooping the £500,000 first prize. “I could not put into words how great this feels,” Humphries told Sky Sports.
