The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Amakoromo Waikumo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, winner of the Yenagoa Constituency 2 re-/run election. The February 3rd re-run election was held in seven units of Gbarain 1 & 2, and Ekpetiama 1 & 2, where elections were initially cancelled due to electoral malpractices. Waikuno, who scored the highest votes cast, polled a total of 5959 votes to beat his closest rival, Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 5263 votes.
