Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan defeated Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning in the all-Chinese final to win women’s badminton doubles gold at the Paris Games on Saturday. Chen and Jia had won silver at Tokyo 2020 but took the next step in Paris with a 22-20, 21-15 win. After the match, all four athletes celebrated together on the court, to the delight of the many Chinese fans at the La Chapelle Arena. Bronze went to Japan after Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida defeated Thinaah Muralitharan and Pearly Tan of Malaysia.
