According to the investigation, the accused offered the leadership of the State Customs Service $1 million in exchange for appointing an associate of theirs as the head of Lviv Oblast Customs. Additional bribes of $500,000 and $200,000 were offered to secure similar appointments at the Volyn and Chernivtsi customs offices. They also proposed giving the customs leadership half of the illicit income generated through these corruption schemes.
