Concerning the turf war over Liberty State Park redevelopment in Jersey City: I was outraged to read that state Senate President Nick Scutari and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, in writing, all but threatened to to defund the state Department of Environmental Protection because of the lawmakers’ ignorance of open-space plans that have been hailed by our citizens, are publicly available on the DEP website, and supported by local public officials.
