Who destroyed the orchids on the verge? Several years ago there was a campaign to save the orchids on a stretch of verge opposite Cold Harbour Farm which is on the way to Hungerford Common, from Inkpen. The story was reported in the Newbury Weekly News on two occasions and then happily the verge was left uncut in the summer for a few years, leaving the orchids in their glory.
