Tonight was not Liverpool’s night. Arsenal were simply the better team. The Gunners dominated Jurgen Klopp’s team for much of the night. But in the end, Liverpool caused their own doom. Two costly errors. First by Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker, and then the other was Ibrahima Konate’s mistake to pick-up a second yellow card against Kai Havertz. After that, the game was virtually over for Liverpool. The Reds were never going to get back to the game with ten men, even if they only trailed by one goal.
