Former Liverpool defender Joel Matip is on the lookout for a new club after leaving Anfield at the end of last season. Matip was in talks with Xabi Alonso over a move to Bayer Leverkusen, having exited Liverpool earlier this summer upon the expiry of his contract. Aged just 32, he undoubtedly still has plenty to give on the pitch, but Matip could join Liverpool’s coaching staff.
