Exequiel Palacios will miss the start of the season for Bundesliga and German Cup winners Bayer Leverkusen after undergoing knee surgery in his native Argentina. Leverkusen said on Monday that Palacios injured his knee at the recent Copa America in the United States where Argentina won back-to-back titles. He underwent surgery and returned to Leverkusen last weekend to continue rehabilitation at his club. Leverkusen said he could return to sport in around four weeks.
