The Ukrainian parliament on Thursday appointed former ambassador Andrii Sybiha to succeed Dmytro Kuleba as foreign minister with 258 voting in favour, well above the 226 required, Ukrainian media reported. President Volodymyr Zelensky had nominated Sybiha after Kuleba tendered his resignation on Wednesday amid a wide-ranging Cabinet reshuffle. The 49-year-old diplomat, who was previously Kuleba’s deputy, is expected to devote much of his time to seeking increased Western support in warding off the Russian invasion.
