The United States clocked a world record 3 minutes 49.63 seconds to take Olympic gold in the women’s 4x100m medley relay at Paris Games. The Americans never lost sight of the lead and bettered their own previous record of 3:50.40 seconds as Torri Huske touched the wall in the final pool swimming event in Paris. Superstar Katie Ledecky was not competing and only participated in one team event, the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay. At the Paris Games, the US also set world records in the 4x100m mixed medley relay and in the men’s 1,500m freestyle with Bobby Finke.
