China beat the United States and hosts France with superstar Léon Marchand to claim gold in the final men’s race at the Paris Olympics, the 4×100-metre medley relay. Chinese anchor Pan Zhanle, the 100m freestyle gold winner and record holder, took the lead from France’s Florent Manadou and completed the race in 3 minutes 27.46 seconds.
