Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh has dedicated her Olympic gold to the athletes killed in the Russian invasion of her country. The war began in February 2022 and there is no sign of an end. Ukraine had considered boycotting the Paris Games after the International Olympic Committee said Russians could compete as neutrals if they could prove they did not support the conflict.
