The German government has labelled a protest action by angry farmers on the North Sea coast, during which Vice-Chancellor Robert Habeck was prevented from leaving a ferry, as shameful. “With all due respect for a lively culture of protest, no one should be indifferent to such a brutalization of political mores,” wrote government spokesperson Steffen Hebestreit early on Friday morning on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
