A second convict who escaped from a medical facility in southern Germany in August has been detained in Austria, according to local police. Austrian police said the man had been arrested in a forest near Graz in the south-eastern state of Styria late on Wednesday. Four criminals escaped from the Straubing District Hospital in Bavaria on August 17. They allegedly overpowered a hospital employee and threatened to kill him to force the opening of a gate.
