Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree accepting the resignation of his government on Monday and designating Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar as acting prime minister. Sklyar replaces Älihan Smaiylov, who had held the position since January 2022. All other members of the government in Kazakhstan will remain in their position on an interim basis, a statement from Tokayev’s office said.
