Paris Olympics-bound Japan goalkeeper Leo Brian Kokubo is set to join Belgian club Sint-Truiden from Portugal’s Benfica, sources familiar with the matter said Thursday. Kokubo, who stands 193 centimeters tall, helped Japan win the under-23 Asian Cup held between April and May in Qatar, where Japan earned an Olympic berth. The youth product of the J-League’s Kashiwa Reysol joined Benfica in 2019.
