By Zahra Khaliq As measles cases continue to soar across the UK, with the World Health Organisation citing an almost 45-fold rise across Europe, doctors have warned that the illness is just one of many other ‘Victorian diseases’ on the rise. In England and Wales, 588 measles cases have been reported so far this year, compared to just 52 suspected cases in the same period in 2023.
