I’ve just returned from a week in Normandy. It was very disturbing to be in the quiet peace of the countryside and hear about events in Southport followed by the unrest in so many of our towns. Most of us will struggle to understand what has been going on. We cannot know and should not speculate about matters that are sub judice, but the violence that we have seen based on lies and fake news must sicken us all.
