Canadian director and screenwriter Paul Haggis is not likely to stand trial following allegations of sexual abuse in Italy. The Oscar-winning director was detained in Italy in 2022 on charges of sexually assaulting a 30-year-old British woman for several days in a hotel during a film festival in the Apulia region.
