A migrant living in North Jersey drove down to South Jersey to collect thousands of dollars he convinced an elderly couple to surrender, claiming to be a federal investigator, authorities said. Police in Egg Harbor Township in Atlantic County say they arrested Vamshihar Katikreddy, 25, on Tuesday after he was seen driving away from the couple’s house in the municipality’s Harbor Woods section. Katikreddy, of Jersey City, went to the home to obtain $20,000 provided by the couple in their 80s, police said Thursday. Police learned Katikreddy is not a U.S. citizen.
