A thousand street lights are to be switched off on roads across Norfolk as part of efforts to balance the books and find £60m in savings. Following the announcement that all 19 recycling centres in the county will be closed on Wednesdays to help fill the financial gap, Norfolk County Council cabinet members also agreed to measures this week which will see 33 roads plunged into darkness.
