France will play Spain for the gold medal in the men’s football event at the 2024 Olympics. The hosts came from behind to defeat Egypt 3-1 in the second semi-final of the competition. Mahmoud Saber opened the scoring in the second half, before Jean-Phillipe Mateta equalized late in the game. Mateta put France ahead in extra time, before Michael Olise capped off the win with a smart finish.
