A Jewish man has been assaulted by an unidentified perpetrator in Berlin in what authorities believe may have been an anti-Semitic attack, police said on Sunday. The 54-year-old was assaulted in central Berlin in the vicinity of two synagogues on Friday afternoon, it said. After insulting the man, who was wearing a prayer shawl underneath his shirt, the assailant pushed him to the ground and injured his hand with a scooter.
