A man accused of attempting to murder a police officer in an alleged hit-and-run has been remanded in prison. Barry Rossiter, from Ashford, had his bail rescinded today after a judge at Canterbury Crown Court reversed a previous decision made by magistrates. The 23-year-old was not required to attend proceedings this morning to hear the Crown Prosecution Service’s successful appeal. But Rossiter is expected to be present for his plea and trial preparation hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on March 4.
