Tokyo stocks opened higher Thursday as technology shares tracked overnight advances by their U.S. counterparts, with the tech-heavy Nasdaq index finishing at a record high in New York. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 423.66 points, or 1.10 percent, from Wednesday to 38,913.83.
