A Catholic priest on the Italian Mediterranean island of Sicily has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for sexual violence against minors. On Tuesday evening, a court in the town of Enna deemed it proven that the now 42-year-old priest had abused children and young people over several years. The Catholic Church was also ordered to pay compensation to one of the victims. The amount must be determined in separate proceedings.
