In its latest iPhone generations, Apple has stuck to its time-tested design philosophy. The iPhone 15 Pro models featured premium materials such as titanium, but the overall look remained unchanged. This trend is expected to continue in future generations, but a recent leak suggests that one of the iPhone 17 models will get a Slim makeover.

Apple iPhone 17 Slim: large screen in a sleek body

The news comes from well-known analyst Jess Pu (via 9to5Mac), who claims that a new family member will appear in the lineup. Apple is reportedly working on a new iPhone 17 Slim model. This new variant will replace the Plus model and will take its place right above the basic iPhone 17. Pu claims that the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Sim, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be made of titanium.

The top-of-the-line iPhone 17 Pro Max model will be equipped with a new technology for “metallizing” proximity sensors. This will allow Apple to make the Dynamic Island smaller in the next-generation device without compromising Face ID. The iPhone 17 Slim will replace the Plus, but will still offer a larger display than the base model. However, this taller screen will be packed into a thinner and sleeker body. Pu also added that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Slim could have 8GB of RAM and either the A18 or A19 chipset.

On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will have 12GB of RAM and an A19 Pro processor. All four models are expected to come with a 24-megapixel selfie camera, as well as an anti-glare, scratch-resistant display. Keep in mind that this is still unconfirmed information, so take this news with a grain of salt.
