Although Julian Alvarez is now set to leave Manchester City for Atletico Madrid, Arsenal did reportedly table their late interest to their Premier League rivals. Arsenal were willing to pay £70m for Alvarez, but there was no intention on City’s side to sell to Mikel Arteta once again. Pep Guardiola was happy to allow both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus to depart for north London, but Alvarez was seemingly a different story.
