It’s the turn of Conservative leader on West Norfolk Council, Brian Long, to write this week’s Friday Politics column… This is my first time at writing a column for the Lynn News as the leader of the opposition of West Norfolk Council. Despite being the largest party with 21 out of 55 councillors following the election in May 2023, power, or control, of the council is held by a grouping of other parties and independents. This ‘no overall control’ is common across the county in local government – for me the important thing is to make this scenario work for West Norfolk. The first year has passe…
