Chatteris town councillors were given a brief insight into the planning process by one of Fenland’s leading councillors. Councillor David Connor, chair of the district authority’s planning committee, outlined how applications are dealt with and why certain decisions are made. Speaking at Tuesday night’s town council meeting Cllr Connor was responding to comments made over social media about planning decisions made by Fenland for Chatteris. He explained that despite many suggestions that “brown envelopes” are passed to ensure applications are given the go-ahead that was definitely not the case….
