Fans are heartbroken after Brazilian musician Sérgio Mendes, who brought bossa nova to an international audience, has died aged 83. The world has lost yet another music legend too soon. The musician was best known as a pioneer of the bossa nova subgenre, samba jazz, during the 1960’s with his band Brasil ‘66. He had over 55 successful releases, and was even known to experiment with funk music.
