Cambridge United have tied young defender Mamadou Jobe down to a new three-year contract. The 21-year-old made a big impression towards the back end of the 2023/24 campaign after being recalled from a loan spell in the Vanarama National League with Gateshead over the Easter period. He made his Football League debut for the U’s in the crucial 2-0 victory at Barnsley and in total featured in Sky Bet League One fixtures before his season was cut short by concussion suffered in an off-the-ball incident with Chris Martin – the result of which saw the Bristol Rovers striker suspended for four games….
