The Nikkei stock index briefly climbed over 2 percent early Monday after Wall street gains late last week and a weaker yen against the U.S. dollar boosted exporters following stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs data. At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average was up 719.53 points, or 1.86 percent, from Friday at 39,355.15. The broader Topix index was up 38.48 points, or 1.43 percent, at 2,732.55.
