A fire in a flat’s kitchen was out before fire crews could get there. The incident happened at 1.07pm on Sunday, July 28, at a home in The Moors, Thatcham. Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews from Newbury fire station and a third from Theale to tackle the blaze. On arrival, they discovered it had been extinguished, but they also had to give immediate emergency care to one person, ahead of handing them over to a team from South Central Ambulance Service. In all, the crews were at the scene for an hour and eight minutes.
