German authorities are investigating after a centre-left Berlin politician said his office was targeted by protesters with what appeared to be gunshots. A spokeswoman said police are treating the attack on Lars Düsterhöft’s office as a case of damage to property with a political motive. But she said the damage was probably caused by a “sharp object,” rather than bullets as Düsterhöft had suggested.
