Norway’s Harald Østberg Amundsen won cross-country’s Tour de Ski on Sunday with a fifth-place finish in the final stage in Italy won by Frenchman Jules Lapierre. Amundsen had a healthy lead heading into the seventh stage in Val di Fiemme, a 10 kilometres freestyle mass start with a gruelling final climb up Monte Cermis, and his biggest career success was never threatened. He won the nine-day race 1 minute 19.2 seconds from Friedrich Moch who climbed from fourth to second to become the first German since 2009 on the final podium.
